Institute for Governance and leadership studies in Africa

The Institute for Governance and Leadership Studies in Africa, LTD/GTE is an international Non-State Intellectual and Professional Resource Centre established as a constructive and concerted response to the challenges of Africa’s development. A multi-disciplinary Centre, the IGLSA is designed to address some of the skill gaps that have affected the quality of governance and leadership on the Continent. The Institute is an approved professional body authorised by the Federal Ministry of Education to undertake training and certification on Governance and Leadership. It is affiliated with Adeleke University, the Nigerian Army Resource Centre, Global Risk Alliance, United Kingdom, the Public Service Institute of Nigeria, and other reputable professional bodies that offer courses on governance, leadership, and related subject matter areas. It offers a membership programme at the levels of fellowship, full membership, Associate, student and corporate membership.

Our objectives

  • To undertake research and documentation on national and international dimensions of matters such as Governance, Civil Society/Political Party Management, and Political Security as part of efforts to strengthen democratic practice in Africa.

  • Provide training, capacity building, and certification on Governance, Civil Society/Political Party Management, Political Security, and related disciplines.

  • Provide training and capacity building on leadership and leadership-related matters.

  • Provide consultancy services to State and non-State Organisations within and outside the African continent.
